KAH-West Metro was contacted by the CEO of The Raining Season, an organization which supports an orphanage, The Covering, in Sierra Leone Africa. They wanted to receive 40 pallets of food to help the Ebola victims in Sierra Leone. West Metro was happy to supply nine of these pallets. The food was transferred to a trailer towed by volunteers from Omaha, Nebraska. The volunteers transported the food to Tennessee where our pallets were loaded onto a container with the other pallets to be shipped to Sierra Leone.
Monthly Meal Packing March 2015
On Saturday, March 7th, four groups combined forces to pack as many meals as they could in two hours. Most packers were from the Our Special Angels group, but members of Minnetonka High School’s People to People club, Girl Scout Troop 13961, and a 3 on 3 Minnetonka Basketball Team also joined them. At the end of the packing session, the two tables had packed about 15,000 meals. The boxes will begin their journey to Sierra Leone in a few days, where they will help feed people who have been affected by the country’s Ebola epidemic.
