2017-04-19 House of Prayer Mobile Pack

We were happy to return to the House of Prayer (HOP) Lutheran Church in Richfield for another exciting mobile packing event.  This marked our fourth annual packing event with HOP.

Over 90 volunteers along with Pastor Ben Sandin and volunteer coordinator extraordinaire, Ms. Jean Robbins, partnered with the MH-MM band of volunteers for an exciting evening of fellowship and service.  While the rain poured outside, spirits were bright inside.  After setting up five stations for the event, we enjoyed a sloppy-jo dinner with HOP packers and volunteers.  Then we headed to the fellowship hall, greeted everyone formally as they donned their hairnets and sanitized their hands.  We watched the short "how to pack" video from the 2016 packathon and then dived into packing!  The goal was 27,216 meals and the team beat through the goal with 30,888 meals packed - that's 143 boxes of life saving meals.  What an awesome accomplishment!  THANK YOU House of Prayer!  We believe your nickname is House of Joy - as we loved the laughter and fun that permeated throughout the event.  We hope to pack with you many more times in the future.  Blessings to you. P.S. many thanks to Ms. Cara Wright, HOP Communications Director, for sharing photos from the event along with Bekka.
